Take a step back - you really think Balz is the one who needs a break?
Many people - mostly Trumpies, although I don't know your preferences - want to invent a history that creates an expectation of a time limit on the Mueller inquiry. That's the fantasy underlying your assertion. Ken Starr's investigation had gone on for 4 years before he zeroed in on a sordid sex scandal, which hadn't happened until years after the investigation started. Yet somehow some folks now think actions after a certain point in time need to be off limits to this investigation. And that there is some mythical timer that is about to sound the "time's up!" buzzer on this investigation.
That's not how this works. Trump and Trump alone made this inevitable when he fired Comey. If history is any indication at all, we may not be half way done with this investigation yet, and some of the stickiest allegations may be of things that haven't even happened yet. I'm not happy about that, but that's the real world, not the fantasy world of time limits and investigative boundaries some folks, mostly Trumpie nationalists, want to live in.
